By Flight :
Kochi International Airport, about 20 km from Ernakulam town.
By Rail :
The nearest railhead is Ernakulam Junction, about one km from the main boat jetty.
By Road :
Goshree Bridge from Ernakulam that connects the islands of Bolghatty, Mulavukadu, Vallarpadam and Vypeen has made tourist access to this beach much easier. KSRTC Central Bus station near the Ernakulum Junction railway station has regular bus services to Cherai. Private bus services are also available from Cochin.
By Water :
There are regular boat services from the main boat jetty to Vypeen. Cherai is about 22 km away (about 40 minutes by bus) from Vypeen Island. You can also avail boat services every 15 minutes, from Fort Cochin to Vypeen.
