Pasupathieswarer Temple :
Exceptional with the architectural magnificence of the Chola age, the Pasupathieswarer temple was built by the Chola kings in the 7th century. The spectacular figure of Pasupathiswaralingam at the temple sanctum is noted for its sculptural beauty. The main shrine (Moolvar) here is a swayambu lingam. The shrine is also famous for the female deity Sundaravalli.
The shrine at Pugalur, situated North West of Karur, is dedicated to Lord Subramanian. This temple is located on a small hill at Velayuthanpalayam on the banks of Cauvery River. The shrine is well-known for its outstanding sculptural excellence.
