This sea- side town along the coastal line of Karnataka has all the
inputs to plan a perfect holiday. Lying close to the south of Goas

Dargah of Peer Shan Shamsuddin Kharobat :
This famous shrine dedicated to the Baghdadi saint, Peer Shan Shamsuddin Kharobat, attracts tourists in immense numbers.
Naganatha temple :
The uniqueness of the temple is anthill worship.
Karwar harbor :
Karwar bay, known for its picturesque beauty, has this excellent harbor that can be used irrespective of the seasons. The famous beaches at Karwar include Devbagh, Binaga and Arga.
River Kalinadi :
This beautiful river flows through Karwar and joins the Arabian Sea. Provisions for boating are available here.
Kurmagad Island :
The major tourist attractions in this island include a fort and a Narasimha shrine.
Ankola :
Ankola is located about 37 km south of Karwar. This town has the ruins of the 15th century fort of the King Sarpamalika. Another tourist attraction is the shrine of Sri Venkitaraman. The two wooden chariots near the temple have carvings from the epic Ramayana.
Gokarna :
This coastal town is one of the famous pilgrim centers, located about 56 km from Karwar. Gokarna has a well reputed Sanskrit learning centre. The other tourist attractions include Mahabaleswar Temple and Tambraparni Teertha (River).
Yana :
Yana or Bhairavakshetra is a popular destination for rock climbing. This is also a noted pilgrim centre located in a gorgeous valley, about 60 km from Karwar.
